Resumen

In this paper, we show how evolution and changes in organizations have been analyzed with the lens of complexity, particularly with Cladistics techniques. We argue how the order chosen to select and adopt new practices can affect to the final results, particularly in human resource management. We conclude that cladistics, an evolutionary classification scheme from the biological sciences, can be used also in human resource management context. Particularly we will demonstrate in this paper that this methodology can be very helpful to understand how an organization select and adopt best practices in human resource management in order to achieve a competitive advantage and the importance in the order they implement them.
